Certificate II in Hospitality is a great foundation for your career in hospitality. It provides you with the basic operational knowledge and practical work skills to perform a variety of food and beverage activities in a wide scope of hospitality related positions such as a porter, reservations clerk, receptionist, room attendant, and food and drink waiter. Positions that could see you employed in hotels, motels, resorts, healthcare institutions and hospitality related small businesses. This Certificate is a prerequisite for further hospitality studies including the Certificate III in Hospitality (Operations) & Certificate IV in Hospitality (Operations), and the Diploma of Hospitality and Advanced Diploma of Hospitality.

Description
Certificate II in Hospitality provides participants with the basic operational knowledge and practical skills to perform a variety of food and beverage service activities in a supervised workplace. Key areas of study include working with colleagues and customers, following health, safety and security procedures, workplace hygiene procedures, operating a bar, providing food and beverage service, providing responsible service of alcohol and preparing and serving coffee.
This training program may be completed through classroom, workplace based training or a combination of both.

Assessment
To receive the qualification, participants are required to successfully complete all units of competency. A qualification will be issued, based on the successful assessments of all units of competency.
Entry Requirements
Participants must be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10.
If participants are entering this program as an apprentice or a trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, they must be employed in the industry and must register at an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment.
